Highland Pillow No. 176

Vibrantly colorful and masterfully hand-embroidered, our Highland pillows make use of repurposed vintage corte material (women's skirts) worn in the village of Colotenago in Guatemala.

Cortes from Colotenango are all unique and crafted on traditional backstrap looms, an ancient weaving technique. The textile's burgundy appearance comes from the stripes of black against deep reds and earthy rusts. Finished with an elegant geometric brocade woven directly into the fabric and backed with a natural white fabric.
